I'm happy to report that the KAS open house at the Stake Lake Observatory was a great success!
Despite the very threatening looking clouds all morning, by mid afternoon the clouds parted and there was actually some sunshine followed by clear dark skies to do some proper observing in the evening. Fantastic!
I don't have any official tallies myself so I'm not sure of the exact count, but I'd guess there were at least 50 folks in attendance and it looked like everyone enjoyed themselves. There were certainly lots of great door prizes for everyone... big thanks to all who donated prizes (I'll assemble a proper list of donors to follow).
I'll update this site further when I have more 'official' information including who the winners of the raffle were, but I just wanted to say a big thanks for all the hard work put on by KAS members to make this happen, and to our special guest Bill Burnyeat who volunteered his time and travelled up from the coast for our event. I'll also put up some pictures from the day when I get some free time.
Clear skies,
Phil Marshall
